AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE

Last updated: [04/23/2026]

Our Commitment to Transparency

Backyard Edit is committed to being fully transparent about how we earn revenue. This disclosure explains our relationships with brands, affiliate partners, and advertisers — because you deserve to know.

Affiliate Links

Backyard Edit uses affiliate links throughout our content. An affiliate link is a special URL that tracks when a reader clicks through and makes a purchase, allowing us to earn a small commission.

When you click an affiliate link and buy a product:

  • We earn a commission (usually 2–10% of the sale)
  • You pay the exact same price — there’s no extra cost to you
  • We’re able to keep creating free content for readers like you

Amazon Associates Disclosure

As required by law: Backyard Edit is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Other Affiliate Programs

In addition to Amazon, we participate in affiliate programs with:

  • ShareASale
  • Impact.com
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction)
  • Rakuten Advertising
  • Individual brand affiliate programs

We only join programs for products and companies we believe our readers would genuinely benefit from.

Our Editorial Standards

We always:

  • Recommend products we’d use ourselves (or similar products we’ve researched thoroughly)
  • Clearly mark sponsored content when it exists
  • Disclose our relationships with brands
  • Tell you honestly when we haven’t personally tested something

We never:

  • Recommend a product just because it pays a higher commission
  • Write fake positive reviews for money
  • Hide our affiliate relationships
  • Promote products we don’t believe in

If we review a product that we received for free from a brand, we’ll clearly state that in the post.

Sponsored Content

Occasionally, we publish sponsored posts where a brand pays us to feature their product or service. When a post is sponsored, we’ll clearly mark it at the top of the article with language like “This post is sponsored by [Brand Name]” or “In partnership with [Brand Name].”

Sponsored content follows our same editorial standards. We only accept sponsorships from brands whose products we’d recommend to friends and family.

Display Advertising

Backyard Edit displays advertisements through ad networks including but not limited to Google AdSense, Ezoic, Mediavine, or Raptive. These ads are automatically served based on your browsing behavior and interests. We don’t control the specific ads you see, and displaying an ad does not constitute an endorsement.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure complies with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines concerning endorsements and testimonials in advertising. For more information, visit https://www.ftc.gov.
